Collab Studio Blauwe x Murielle Gräff

2024

Murielle Gräff is interested in the new varieties of feminist discourse of the third wave. A pop-informed actualisation of feminism that not only expresses emancipatory criticism of pop culture, but rather desires and produces it.

Hiccup, the wall-mounted coat rack created by designer Nils Rolli, refers to the theme of water in both form and content. More precisely, Hiccup refers to the River Limmat in Zurich, which flows through the urban curves of the city and invites you to take a dip in its cold, shiny waters. Changing clothes in public spaces is part of this. The wave shape of the wardrobe offers the function of hanging clothes and accessories and brings the essence of the cool, undulating Limmat wave into your home.

Two of the wall coat racks were topped with rhinestones in a collaboration with the artist Murielle Gräff. In an ongoing body of work, as part of the new varieties of pop feminism, Gräff covers objects and surfaces with rhinestones. The seductive and playful lustre of the diamond imitation is reminiscent of the reflection of water surfaces and formally echoes the basic theme of Hiccup.

The limited edition in chrome and the collectables with rhinestones are only available at fuse-concept space zurich and room-concept store klosters.
